Shoes

I fell in love with these shoes the first time I saw them on http://intheircloset.com/manolo-blahnik-something-blue-satin-pumps. I don't remember them from the Sex and the City movie but apparently they were Carrie's wedding shoes. They are called the Something Blue or Hangisi.

Even after several years, they are still an extremely popular wedding shoe. I couldn't find them for sale in blue anywhere except ebay. Unfortunately none were my size. I found them in fuchsia, coral, white, and black at the various department stores. I even considered buying them in black but I wasn't sure about wearing black shoes for my wedding. (Although I'm starting to like black accessories for weddings after trying on the Vera Wang White dress with her black horse hair sash.)

Aren't they gorgeous?

I then looked for the knock-offs from Martinez Valero. For $160, they are not exactly cheap shoes. A little more and you can have Badgley Mischka wedding shoes. These are also sold out everywhere in blue. DSW online has the white and black.

I then tried forgetting about the shoes because not only are they not available but the blue is not the shade of my wedding color blue and at $945, was a little steep for me. I looked and looked and found these other Martinez Valero pumps. The color is a little off in the picture but in person they match the Tiffany blue exactly. Bling wedding shoes are in right now. I liked them but I didn't love them. I didn't really want Tiffany blue wedding shoes. I wanted something a little more vibrant.

So I looked for shoes in my other wedding color: red. I love red shoes. These are Charles by Charles David. 6pm.com has these shoes on sale for $129.00 with a listed price of $215. I thought the CBCD line was the cheaper line of Charles David. Maybe it's been a long time since I bought a pair of Charles Davids. I found them at a deep discount at my new online shoe retailer: Marty's Shoes. I used a $10 off coupon and got them for $49.99 with free shipping.

Then I started googling "Manolo Hangisi" again and found that Bergdorf's is taking preorders for the blue with delivery by the end of October 2011. What is a girl to do?
